Big cost drivers

The largest variables are square footage, height/access, debris removal, water intrusion, drain tile, sump pump, vapor barrier thickness, wall treatment, insulation changes, dehumidifier needs, electrical readiness, and any wood or structural repair.

Cheapest is not always cheapest

A thin ground cover without drainage can look clean for a short time while the moisture problem keeps working. A strong quote should explain the sequence: dry the space, control water, seal ground moisture, manage air, and monitor performance.

How to get a useful estimate

  • Measure or estimate crawl space footprint.
  • Share photos of access, ground, walls, insulation, and equipment.
  • Explain when moisture appears.
  • Note any real estate or insurance deadline.
  • Ask what is included, excluded, and warranty-backed by the actual contractor.
